We borrowed Anton’s Blu-ray player and watched Batman Begins. This was our first movie to watch on Blu-ray, and it was fun, even though we forgot to also borrow the remote. Good thing the movie started by itself when we put it in. Doesn’t it look epic?

This is the day after a big snow fall in Vancouver, that was followed by high winds. Two things to notice: by the look of it you would never know that the was about 2 inches of snow here the day before and that tree branch missed our car.

Snow in Vancouver! Late in the evening we were excited to see everything covered in snow. We were all ready to go out the next morning and take some pretty pictures of the fort. But alas, it had all turned to slush by 5 in the am (you may wonder why I know that… it’s because I was up). It was nice while it lasted.

Magnus tried on his first pair of shoes today. We’ve had them for awhile and finally tried them on today. They seemed a little snug to me, but he didn’t seem to mind. When should he start wearing shoes regularly?

I made Dana go buy new shoes today. He hates shoe shopping, but his former pair had holes where his big toe could stick out… the top of the shoe. Magnus helped by bringing the foot measuring thing…

When Magnus gets sleepy he finds pillows on the floor and rolls around on them smiling and rubbing his head and face on them. It’s pretty adorable. The next step will be getting him to fall asleep on said pillows…

Magnus’s new favorite toy is Dana’s scriptures. He likes carrying them around and holding them out while he does his squats. Who knew they would be so good for building your body muscles as well as your spiritual ones?

I walked to the library today. I saw this robin on the way and took his picture. I like how he matches the sign. That night we went to Burgerville and used their fancy touch screen drink dispenser with over 100 choices. It was pretty cool.

This is a picture taken from a video of Magnus starting to walk. We were playing with him on the floor at Else’s house when he took two little steps on his own. So, we started to have him try between Ruth and Else. After several attempts he started take several steps at a time. On one attempt he took nine steps. Magnus is really growing up fast. Here is one video and a second one.

Happy 8 Months, Magnus!
Today we all went to the Evergreen Air and Space Museum in Oregon, whose star attraction is the Spruce Goose (the largest airplane ever built). It was an impressive sight. It was also hard to take a picture of. The wing span is longer than a football field and the airplane is eight stories tall. That little person down there is Dana. There were also lots of other neat airplanes parked around it. There was also a second hanger with space related items and vehicles. It was a cool place to go.

Happy New Year!
Goodbye, 2011!
Here we are about 15 seconds before midnight, ready to welcome the New Year. We had a fun evening. Dave and Rianne came over for a little bit and we watched Thor. We ate pizza and cake and candy. And had our sparkling cider for the big moment. And Magnus even stayed up the whole night and was very playful and happy.
It was a good year and we hope people had fun following along with us. We hope to continue this blog through 2012.

Happy Birthday, Ivan!
Magnus is now becoming a pro waver. Though, there are also times when he just points at you from across the room, probably because he thinks you’re awesome. He is also becoming interested in books.
