We spent the evening at Else’s. Magnus took a nap after dinner and woke up quite upset. Nothing could appease him. Finally Dana found a bag of flat marbles and showed Magnus how he could play with them. That made him feel better.

Today way a busy day. It started bright and early with the first ever ward triathlon. We had about 12 participants, all men and boys, and all of them finished.  Then after that we went to a local farm to check out their pumpkin patch. It was pretty impressive. We posted about it here.

Then we had to hurry back to get to our ward Harvest Party. Magnus got to wear his frog costume, so he was happy.

It seems like no matter how much I clean up, the living room always looks like this at the end of the night.

We took the van on its inaugural trip to the Gorge today. Part of the old highway was closed, but we still got to see some nice waterfalls. Magnus liked the trip too.

He so badly wanted to play today!

We broke out the Halloween decorations. Magnus could not keep his hands off the Franken-candle. And put it here.

We got Magnus this Cookie Monster toy the other day. He decided cookie monster was hungry for Count Chocula instead of cookies.

Our car caught on fire! Go to our other blog to read the whole story; it’s not very long. We had such a nice morning. We listened to Conference, we went to the farmer’s market and came home in time for the second session. But then our neighbor knocked on our door and said our car was on fire. Sure enough it was.

Now it is gone.

Thanks to a nice tip, we were able to get a cool Halloween costume for Magnus. He loves it and sometimes won’t let us take it off. Hopefully he’ll still feel that way in a week or two.

Magnus is still recovering from his cold. Having Farmor scratch his back seemed to make him feel better.

Sweet little Rachel brought a gift for us when she came – a cold. Magnus and I both got it and treated it with napping. Dana blew his nose once… that’s as close to sick as he got. Lucky man.

Yay for visiting! Magnus was happy to have some other kids to play with and not just boring old mom and dad. Thanks for coming to visit, Will, Courtney, Whitney, and Rachel!

Will brought his awesome bubble gear and we made bubbles today at the park after church. The other kids at the park thought it was great and Whitney and Magnus had a great time running around after the bubbles.

Magnus has never been a fan of his crib. We realized the other day that he was at the limits of the cribs height and weight limit. So we looked into getting him a toddler bed. We’re starting with the mattress on the floor for now. We found him like this the other night. So far the bed is a hit.

We are trying to get a bedtime routine established for Magnus. After his bath and getting on jammies, he goes around the apartment with Dana and says, “night nights.” He has to say “night night” to this moth and the beetles.

Bad idea: Yogurt handprint on hair. Unless you’re Magnus.

Our bounty from the Farmer’s Market today: peaches, honey crisp apples, raw honey, huckleberries, purple and red peppers, “black sun” blackberries, and a “chicken of the forest” mushrooms. The peppers were particularly good.
