My parents left today. We have little signs that they have been here, though. The folded air mattress still in the bedroom, dishes in funny places in the dishwasher, and, of course, a half eaten package of Almond Roca. Thanks for coming and playing with us!

“Weird” Al Yankovic! Dressed as a Jedi! Surrounded by Storm Troopers! Can it get any better?

Dana has been trying to see Weird Al in concert since he was 10. Due to various circumstances, he has never had the opportunity.

Until today.

We saw Weird Al was coming to play a concert at the Oregon Zoo and we made sure to buy tickets in April to go see him. It just so happened that it was the same day my parents were in town. So we went to the zoo in the morning. Then Grandma Rose and Grandpa Keeler took Magnus home and played with him while we stayed for the concert.

Thanks, Mom and Dad! We love you!

My parents came to town! They are heading to Idaho for Dave’s graduation but came to visit us for a few days. We took them for a hike in the Gorge.

Being in the Young Women’s Presidency at church gave Ruth the chance to set up the new bulletin board display. We went to the church tonight so she could do that. The girls are supposed to draw or take pictures to post on the board for the rest of the year. Hopefully they participate.

The world through the eyes of a 2 year old. We have a smaller camera that Magnus is allowed to use sometimes, though he still gets his fingers in most of the shots (or maybe that is his artistic trademark).

Magnus is still learning how to catch things. Tonight, we tossed around some yarn. He would catch it sometimes, but had a great time even when he didn’t. Here he is attempting to catch the yarn.

We went hiking through Ape Cave with the young women. It is a great hike that takes you 1 1/2 miles underground. It is a beautiful place and it was a good experience for those girls.

Dana has some display cases that he likes that are kind of a specialty item. For a long time we didn’t know what they were called and so it was hard to try and replace them because stores don’t normally carry them.

We recently figured out that they are called Riker Mounts. I ordered some for Dana for our anniversary off the internet, but I didn’t think they would arrive in time. So I commissioned Elina to draw a portrait of Will Riker from Star Trek to stand in for the coming gift.

We liked the result so much, Dana hung it on the filing cabinet in our room.

Thanks, Elina!
