Due to massive snow pack and a longer winter, the Mighty Columbia has flooded. It reached 16.6 feet above normal (flood stage is 16 feet). This is nowhere near the big flood in 1996 or like the large scale flooding in the east, but still interesting. This is the view of a wetland along the river, now it is more wet than land. We even saw a salmon jump among the trees…tree salmon? We took Magnus down to see the river, but he was only mildly impressed. He is still coming to terms with his baby carrier and light sprinklings of rain.
