Today, we wanted to spend some time up in and around a quiet stream. So, we took Elina with us and headed up to Amboy, and a creek called Canyon Creek. We knew of a place that had been opened up because of a landslide last year with nice pools. The water was very cold, so swimming was hard. But the rocks under the water were covered with hundreds of these caddisfly larvae. They make little casings to live in out of the materials in the water and silk. These ones have used sand and pine needles. We will make a bigger post about today soon.
