We were happy to have the Guptills come up for dinner tonight. After dinner we walked to our little park and the kids ran around on the playground. The big slide was the favorite. Here, Magnus hangs out with Anna.

We got a chance to go down to Gladstone today and see one of the Kenners get baptized and baby John get blessed. Thank you, Guptills! We had a fun time!

Brother Marsh invited us to his birthday party this evening. We both share June 17 as our birthday; he is also the one that baptized me when I was 8. We were glad we could attend. Latter that night we had a big get-together at a park with a lot of my old high school friends. Ryan and Kathrin had driven up from Phoenix for a few days, and we were all happy to see them.

After church, I got everybody to pose for a family picture. We were glad we got to spend some time with Will, Courtney, Whitney, and Rachel at their house. Thanks guys. On the way home we made a quick stop at Rock Fort in The Dalles, OR; a place where Lewis and Clark camped on their journey.

We went with Will’s family to Hat Rock SP, near Umatilla. It is a place mentioned in the journals of Lewis and Clark, so that was cool. Magnus quickly became good friends with his cousins. Here he is “wearing” Hat Rock with his cousin Whitney. We also visited the Whitman Mission NHS, near Walla Walla, WA. It was a busy and fun day.

Day 2 we visited the Sheep Rock Unit of John Day Fossil Beds NM. They have a wonderful fossil museum at the visitor center, with lots of plant and animal fossils, including some cool prehistoric mammals. This photo is from our hike in Blue Basin, where many fossils have been found. Magnus enjoyed hiking and was mostly good at it. For dinner we met up with Ruth’s brother Will, and his family in Umatilla, OR. It was a great day.

Our first day took us to Little Crater Lake and two units of John Day Fossil Beds NM. Each place was amazing. We really enjoyed the Painted Hills Unit. The colors of the landscape were incredible. We also dug for fossils in Fossil, OR and found some good ones. Then we camped in Ochoco Divide campground.

I went Frisbee golfing with my friend, Brian. We went to Paradise Point SP. I had not been before, but Brian had a set of Frisbees. It was pretty fun. Brian won, but I did pretty good. Here I am making it to the hole.

After visiting the Farmer’s Market, we took a walk around the park. The basalt column fountain was off, so Magnus had some fun climbing around on the rocks. Here he is taking a break next to Mom.
